FIGURE-GROUND

Figure-Ground

We cannot look at both the trees and the forest at the same time. If we look at one thing, the other disappears or changes. Every unity consists of parts.

Figure-Ground is a concept including a performance-installation-workshop. The performance is looking into the fragility of human being trough men made by 500 hundred little pieces of wood build as an unstable tower. In the puzzle of these men and in the relation between them and the performer there is the complexity of our inner feelings. All the pieces are needed, because by moving one of the carrying pieces, all can fall.

Figure-Ground was selected to CircusNext 2015 as one of the up coming shows to present 20-minute work-in-progress on stage during the selection week held in Dommelhof Neerpelt.
